When it rains on Livingston between Willow and Linden the water builds up a LOT and I have to walk a whole block down in order to get to my car to go to work. In the winter these large curbside pools become ice blocks, sealing our cars in and making us late for work as we chip our way out. I can't seem to figure where the drains are, but however this street was constructed, it was not done with the intent to drain. help!

You should call Engineering at 203.946.6417 and ask them to look into this condition and clean out the drain.
You might also want to call your alder-person and get them involved in this quality of life issue.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for pointing this out. As LCI said, it could be a problem with the drain or with grading. Foster Street has similar problems that haven't been taken care of for years. If elected your alderperson, I plan to focus on these quality of life issues. The election is November 3rd. I hope folks get out there to vote and then we can start to take care of these neighborhood issues.

Laura,
Can you give more information on the specific spot (in front of which house, how often it happens, etc.) Thanks.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for keeping on top of this. I just sent an email to public works about the issue. They dealt with a similar problem on Foster Street by putting some blacktop down. Depending on the grades, it could be complicated or it could be easy. I'll let you know what they say and sorry for the delay on getting this fixed.
Thanks.

This still remains a problem and has me worried for winter. During the heavy rains recently, I was grateful I parked my car on the other side of the street so that it wasn't under water when this puddle rose! When it's dry out (although, I know there's water there today) you can see teh water line of debris for how far up the street and sidewalk it goes.
I would just like to know if the town has looked at it. It seems like there should be a drain somewhere.
